Rudy at 7 Months

Rudy turned 7 months old yesterday and he’s still a going concern.

First, he discovered freshly mowed grass. And he loves it! Cow? Dog? No clue, but he loves it.

He’s also discovered the power of laying down. You know like a 3-year-old human child that throws itself on the ground when you’re trying to leave the playground? Yeah, that. Asshole.

I take him to the dog park to play with his pals every single day. As long as it’s not raining, I take him. Happy, sad, tired, awake, hot, cold, we go. He has doggie besties. Zeus, a tiny boxer-lab mix is his fave. They can run and play for hours!

Then there’s Buddy, a Bernese-Lab mix that loves to play but just doesn’t have the stamina to keep up with him. And of course, there’s Stella, a spirited pitty cross with a heart of gold, Jasper, a purebred German Shepherd with a playful spirit and Jesse, a love-suck Golden that prances around the park like royalty, just looking for the human who brought water.

He’s a big boy, Rudy is. He’s closing in on 70 pounds. And he’s moulting. Uggg! He’s leaving clumps of fur everywhere. I can literally pull it from his body.

I think it’s the Pyrenees in him. He has the double coat and the double dew claw. And he’s not keen on heat.
