Member-only story
A pile of rubble sits atop the ground
Heavy and jagged,
A constant, crumpled monument
To a thousand broken dreams.
Plans made, loves lost.
A lifetime of promises broken
To others, but most of all
To herself.
It’s weight, crushing,
Almost too much to bear,
As gray dust steals life all around.
Yet the rain still falls,
The sun still shines,
And somehow, time marches on,
Until one day
Among the ruins,
She emerged, a flower
Rising proudly as if from nowhere
Brighter, stronger
Wiser and more beautiful
Than she had ever been before.
