A Haiku About A Dog

And a heart filled with pure joy,

Haikus are NOT my thing. I love poetry, but haikus…ugh! I think I burnt myself out on them during Vocal Media’s endless string of challenges involving haikus and people’s 38 freaking entries!

Okay, okay, not the point. The point was to write a haiku about anything in my life in response to Keeley Schroder’s prompt:

Are You Feeling Adventurous This April, Challengers?

So, I wrote one about one of my favourite people in my life, my 17-month-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd/Greatpyenees mix, Rudy the wonder dog! yes, I said “people” deliberately. I like him better than most people most days.

People always say how cute he is, especially with that extra-long tongue. He kinda looks like a cartoon dog. And his personality is consistent with that look. He’s a happy, goofy little (well, actually big) ham, and I love him.
