Sadly you're right, politics and politicians care about power, getting it, maintaining it, increasing it and well, children don't contribute to that end. They don't donate to political campaigns and don't vote. Their value to the "power structure is limited to indoctrination for future power bids to maintain the status-quo, photo ops and frankly just lip service so the powers that be can be seen and heard to care without actually doing anything.

it's the same in Canada. In my home province, I can't even count the number of children who have died while either in provincial care or waiting to be visited by cps after an abuse call.

All we can do is keep calling it out, and you've done a fine job of getting the ball rolling.
