Isn't it nice to sit back smugly looking down at those that are struggling? Isn't it just wonderful to see children living in damp, mouldy houses and not having enough to eat?
My theory. it's not only to entertain the more privileged, but to keep those on the margins going to those low paying jobs with the fear of "being like those people".
Canada doesn't have that much poverty porn. And if we did, I woudln't watch. I see poverty every day on my street, in my city.
