If anyone needs proof of race being a social construct, I offer myself as exhibit A. I look white, I am largely treated as a white woman by the world. My skin is whiter than most actual white people. However, my father is Black, so biologically speaking, I am mixed race. Funny thing about society treating me as white and affording me the privilege that goes with that...once they learn of my "biology", those privileges can be snatched away as quickly as they were offered.
