She's an absoulte hero. As a former gymnast and someone that has struggled with mental health, I can tell you without a doubt that she did the right thing. This ins't just a case of nerves or stage fright, I'm sure she's had that before and she knew "This" wasn't that. I'm also sure she agonized over her decision. Kerry Strugg made her decision and ended up with an injured foot, and she's very lucky that was all. Gymnastics can be a very dangerous sport and a momentary lapse in focus can result in catastrophic injury or death (imagine falling off a beam or the uneven bars the wrong way onto your head or neck, or even failing to land on the floor properly). Simone made the right decision and we all know who the true embarrassment to Texas is!
