Short answer, no. The jury is called a "jury of your peers" for a reason. One of the first pieces of advice I got as a lawyer was never to elect trial by jury if I ever needed to. A jury is literally the 12 people too stupid to get out of it. 12 people who aren't even nearly as smart as you or I. Nops.
