Taking Curvy Back
Okay, before we get started, let me just say, big girls, I love ya. I mean no disrespect here. You love your curves. You celebrate them. And you damn well should.
But here’s the problem; bigger women aren’t the only ones that are curvy. Maybe it’s just me, but there seems to be a suggestion in the term as it’s now used that implies, if not downright states, that being slim and being curvy are two mutually exclusive states of existence.
That’s just not the case.
I’m slim, about a size 0 at least on the top half of my body, but owing to my genetic makeup, I’m also very curvy, as in I am in possession of curves. I have a small waist, larger hips and a butt that’s not exactly flat.
I grew up hating my curves. I was bullied and teased for being scrawny with a bubble butt during a time when “straight up and down” was the fashion.
But now, I embrace and love my curves. Not all slim girls are curvy. Neither are all big girls. I’ve seen big girls with essentially no curves at all. I’ve seen the same on smaller women. And I’ve seen both bigger and smaller women…
