The attraction on my end was strictly platonic. it's a strange things, but I have always gotten along better with men than women. When I was young, most of my friends in the neighbourhood were boys. We build forts, played ball, climbed stuff, you know.

It wasn't until I got older that guys started hanging around under the guise of friendship only to reveal their intentions later. For some it was fine because I was doing the same thing on some level with some of them. How else do you get to know each other?

Over the last 25 years or so, every single male friend, aside from one has hung around, knowing I was otherwise involved and interested only in friendship, only to reveal their intentions much later. But not 12 years later

12 years! I do have a lot to say, you're right. I guess I'm just disappointed because I allowed myself to trust that he was different. So I'm mad at him, every man that came before him, and most of all, I'm mad at me.

Oh, why or why can't they just respect me for my mind? (that last line is me being sarcastic).
