The Puppies Are Fine…
Geroge Carlin once said, “The planet is fine, the people are fu*cked.” Well, I’ve adapted that to fit my experiences at the local dog park because it’s true.
If I’ve learned anything in the 7 months I’ve had my Rudy it’s that although we humans think we take our dogs to the park to teach them to socialize with others, it’s us that need to learn how to play nice with others. The dogs get along fine. The people…not so much.
There's nothing more obnoxious and infuriating than an entitled pet parent. They lose any and all objectivity and common sense. And they are everywhere!
In my town, there’s only one off-leash dog park. I take Rudy every day. Why would I do that if I don’t like the non-stop drama, you ask? Because Rudy is a very high-energy fella. I could walk him for days without tiring him out.
He needs to run and wrestle with his puppy pals. Plus, he loves it. Why should I let a few asshats take something he loves away from him.
But this week takes the damn cake! First, there was the clown who grabbed and threw Rudy for no reason. You already know about that as I wrote about it.
Then there was the man-hater. She had a female mid-sized dog of some sort. I’m not sure what type, but it looked like a mixed breed…
