There's confusion about who to vote for, I think, largely because people have lost the ability to think critically. They can't weigh the pros and cons of each candidate. We've devolved into a society of black and white thinkers, all or nothing. If Biden is good, he's all good and Trump's all bad, or if you happen to be a Trump fan, he's all good and Biden sucks. There's no real evaluation.
Then you add to that the fact that for some reason politics has become some sort of strange identity badge for some voters, as if they're the ones running for office. We've become so entrenched into thinking our side (whichever side that is) is right that we reject anything that threatens that.
I have concerns about Biden's cognitive state. But I also have concerns about Trump getting in again, grave concerns. I'm not even American, but if I was, I'd be weighing the pros and cons and honestly, right now, I think continuity, staying the course, is the right call. I doubt very much Biden will be able to finish out a 2nd term, but as you've pointed out, there's a team in place and mechanisms to deal with that if something should happen.
