They can't see around corners the way we do. And we do because we couldn't either, and then we got burned. The problem is, we know, and it hurts to watch a train wreck in progress and not try to stop it. I'm going through this with boy #2 right now. He's in rehab, he's sober and doing great. However, he's still got this insane attachment to his girlfriend/ex-girlfriend, I don't know, they break up 3x a day. She's a bit off, nice girl smart, talented, but troubled and a hardcore alcoholic. Oh and she's abusive. It's clearly not going to work with him sober and her not. I've been around the block a time or 2, I know how this ends. Yet, it's his life, his mistake and I have to keep my yap shut. It's not like he'd listen to me anyway.
