This for me is the especially maddening part! It's common, in my experience for the person themselves to not see it, either because they don't actually see it or because they're in denial. But those around him have to see it. I just wrote about this myself. Honestly, it feels almost abusive to keep trotting him out there like that. That debate was, quite frankly, heartbreaking.
