This one gets me. I'm not a Boomer, I'm Gen X, but whatever, young people don't know the difference. The fact is we (and I mean boomers and gen x who have raised these kids) have sadly coddled and created an entire generation of entitled little whiners. Not all of them of course, but...well, enough of them. Anyway, back to my point, the inheritance thing. I laugh when I hear that. There's no such thing as spending someone's inheritance. It's a legal misnomer. While living, the money belongs to the testator, in this case, the boomer. They can do with it as they wish. And if there's nothing left over, well, tough shit. Sorry, not sorry as the kids say. Nobody is entitled to an inheritance.
