This should be required reading for mothers, not only of girls but boys too. I was told 4 of the 5. The only thing I wasn't told the first one. But you know, my mother got around that one by trying to make me humble and telling me, "you're not bad looking, but there are way prettier girls around the corner." Also not helpful.

When I was in my late 30's my mother actually told me NOT to go to law school because no man would want to marry a woman smarter than him.
