This was beautiful. Speaking as a child that was adopted and was clearly of a different racial makeup than my parents, I can't tell you how precious being able to lay eyes on another human on this earth that looks like you, that you can say, "yeah, okay, I make sense now" is! I never got that as my birth mother died when I was 3 weeks old.

The fear you feel is natural. And your son might go through some strange things like feeling particularly drawn to his birth mother for the reasons I noted above. It might feel like a rejection of you, it's not, it's him trying to figure out himself. Not that that makes it any easier. There's also the possibility that she may not want to meet him, or be in a place to do so, but that's a bridge you can navigate should you need to.

I love your open, loving attitude toward all this. I hope it all works out well for all of you.
