This was excellent! I'm a mixed race woman (Black father, white mother), who has easily passed as white. In my younger days, it did seem like the answer, until other people (white people) discovered my racial make-up. It's a really strange and damaging thing to have that social approval, for lack of a better term, ripped away for no other reason but someone finding out the colour of one of my parents.
I've never really considered it in the context of the intimate relationship with white men. I need to do that. Thank you for prompting me to consider this...
