Well, I have a few things to say here. I don't wholly disagree with your points, however, I do leave the option at the end of my stories. If someone wishes to throw me a tip because something I've written has touched them, I'm fine with it.

To conflate that with either a lack of skill, confidence or understanding of the business of writing is disingenuous and frankly, not accurate. I am very confident in my work and have a novel in the works with a well-known publisher. I've been interviewed on podcasts, etc. because of my writing. I have quality followers who read every word I write. I have the skills and those skills speak for themselves. I engage with those I follow meaningfully.

Everyone who adds the ko-fi link isn't behaving like a homeless person and they're certainly not lacking skill, security or readers. I'd stack my work against any writer on here any day of the week. It's just another income source. That's it, that's all.
