Wow! I'd take your mom over the "just don't" mother I had. I didn't even know what a period was because my mother wouldn't let me attended the class at school. I grew up thinking sex was dirty and it took me almost all these 50 years to undo that.

I tried to undo that with my 3 boys. I was open with them and the "condom fairy" visited often to deposit profolactics into thier sock drawers from age 13 on because pretending it's not happening isn't a reasonable approach. All I can say is I have no grandchildren and my boys are safe.
