Yeah, people hate that. But seriously, it actually IS a real problem. Being hit on can be a real pain in the ass and sometimes can and does make a woman feel unsafe. It's also just a huge intrusion into one's day, at least for me because when I'm out running errands, I'm trying to get shit done, not be entertainment for some paunchy past-it dude who still thinks he's gonna bang the prom queen. Actually one of my very first stories on Medium was about just that.

And yes, it's difficult not ever knowing if people see beyond the physical. Honestly, I think that attractive people are, on balance, more insecure than others. I have no data for that, just my feeling. I could go on and on, but my comment is turning into its own story, LOL. On a positive note, the older I get, the more secure I become...I figure the men will give up when I'm about 80, and then I'll be totally secure. :)
