Even more insidious in this size fetishization is the idea of being some variation of a zero. To be a 0, 00, or 000, when you think about it metaphorically, is to be absent. To be a vacuum. A nonentity.

You know what's funny? My mother used to joke when she was alive that I didn't even exist because I'm a size 0. She thought it was hilarious. I was not amused.
