Your article was absolutely brilliant! I'm a biracial woman, but look very white, in some ways (pale skin, blue eyes) and have other features that are more Black like a very curvy body and thick, coarse, unruly curly hair. I can't honestly begin to pretend I have felt anything near what you describe, but I do know what it's like to hate my hair and to not look like all the other girls at school. I'm proud of those features I once hated now, but it took me 50 years to get there.

My sisters are all much darker skinned than me and have faced more of the pressure you speak of and they are absolutely stunningly beautiful women. Society needs to do better.
