That said, I have no problem with people asking for money on GoFundMe for certain things, catastrophic disease, fire. a real emergency. Not Jenny needs a new laptop or Timmy wants a new car.

I give to no one unless I know them or someone connected with them that can verify the situation. Times are tough, no doubt. I don't have a lot to give, but there are indeed scammers everywhere. A guy in my son's building was just raising funds on a platform saying he was a single father of 3 whose wife walked out and all just before Christmas, bless. He'd gotten almost $600. He almost got me. But I asked my boy about him because the name sounded familiar. All crap. Not a single father raising his kids, just a guy needing money.

I worked 3 jobs. I went to school during the day and worked all night. I'll help anyone who wants to help themselves, in a real sense, to the extent I can, but I don't give freebees for those that just want to sit hone, smoke weed and play Donkey Kong, or whatever.
