You're spot on! I've been concerned about Biden since about 2019. I worked in mental health for ages before going to law school, I know cognitive decline when I see it and he was showing it then, albeit mildly. Telling the public he "just has a stutter," come on! Biden's been around forever and he never had a stutter. Pretending things aren't as they are isn't a real strategy. Neither is "The other guy sucks."

And yes, even basic Psychology 101 teaches you that a person can't concern themselves with what I'll call higher-level needs until the ones lower on the scale are taken care of (Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs). Compassionate, hardworking people aren't generally heartless about Gaza or LGBTQIA+ rights. But those aren't immediate concerns for them, paying the rent is.
